Storage Devices

Cloud Storage:

Data is stored on a server that can be accessed by users at any location.  This allows users to work on an image at work and then continue at home without the need to transfer files.

USB:

A portable storage device used to transfer data, allowing graphics to be taken to different locations with the user so they can be worked with even in places with no internet connection.

Hard Drive:

A high capacity, non volatile storage medium for data. As image files require quite a bit of storage, hard drives are useful for storing large quantities of them.

Flash Drive:

Uses solid state memory to store data. They share the same functionality as usb pens, but have a faster file transfer rate.

CD/DVD:

An optical storage device. Some may be read only storage, while others allow for data to be burnt to the disc. Images can be burnt to a disc and transferred to another computer or used in slide shows etc.
